ARCHIE C. BRYANT's Obituary
PERRY –
Archie C. Bryant passed away peacefully from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy with his loving wife by his side on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, just four hours shy of his 75th birthday, at Pine Pointe Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Friends of Perry Animal Shelter (FOPAS), 204 Kellwood Drive, Perry, GA 31069, or Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Born on March 2, 1948, Archie was the son of the late E.B. and Maude Turner Bryant. He graduated in the Class of 1966 from Unadilla High School and played in the FFA Band. He began working at Blue Bird Body Company and subsequently Wanderlodge in Fort Valley then went on to further his education at the local technical school. His career shifted when he accepted a position with Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base from where he retired after twenty-five years of service.
Archie’s passion in life was music, and it all started with the experience he gained in the FFA Band. After high school, he continued playing music and was an original member of the band, Sneezz, that played at the Red Fox Lounge at the Holiday Inn in Perry during the early 70’s. After retirement, Archie retired to his shop in his backyard. From testing equipment, repairing equipment, or selling equipment to just sitting, engaging in conversation, and enjoying a beer, he loved being with and helping fellow musicians in any way he could. He was of the Baptist faith.
Archie was predeceased by his parents; a son, Whitney Turner Bryant; his brothers, Harold Bryant and Herbert Bryant; a sister, Barbara Bryant Hardin; and a brother-in-law, Billy Ragan.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Archie and his loving and devoted wife of fifty-two years, Farise Ragan Bryant; his son, Brenton Bryant; his brothers-in-law, Jerry Ragan (Joyce) and Bobby Ragan (Nancy); his sisters-in-law, Joyce Wilder, Becky Chappell (Johnny), and Carolyn Ragan.
Archie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the care provided by the staff, especially the nurses and tech, who lovingly took care of him and the family at home and at Pine Point Hospice during these last few weeks.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
