ANNIE DRIGGARS PATTERSON's Obituary
PERRY –
Annie Driggars Patterson, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, after an extended illness. Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Perry. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and the Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Perry, House of God Campaign, 1105 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069.
Annie was born in Macon to the late Recie F. and Jackson D. Driggars. She was married for over 66 years to the love of her life, Raymond “Pat” Patterson. The couple owned and operated various local grocery stores for over twenty-five years. She worked alongside her husband daily, and continuously worked tirelessly through the years as a homemaker to create a caring and encouraging environment for her family, for whom she had such pride and loved dearly. Mrs. Annie was a long-time, active member of First Baptist Church of Perry. She loved Jesus, her church, and her church family. One would often find Mrs. Annie at the church, involved in a Bible study or volunteering. To honor the Pattersons for their faithfulness and dedication to First Baptist Church of Perry, their Sunday School class, previously known as the Avon Buice Sunday School Class, was recently re-named The Raymond and Annie Patterson Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Annie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband, Raymond Wood Patterson; and her sister, Peggy Thompson.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mrs. Annie are her three sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Kathy Patterson of Byron, Al and Janet Patterson of Kennesaw, and Dr. Craig and Rosemari Patterson of Elko; her grandchildren, Kristina Fordham (Casey), Katie Lynn, Dr. Raymond Patterson (Lindsey), Michael Patterson, Dr. Mitchell Patterson (Mahannah), Marla Kersey, and Dr. Spencer Patterson (Brittany); thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
