My Grandma Jane was a rare and beautiful soul. In the short time I knew her she was an inspiration to me, driving me to live life to its fullest. We love you.
I only met Miss Annie once while visiting my sister, Molisa Moffett and her husband Walter, but she I remember her as a very welcoming woman. She had all of us over, fed us and made us feel welcome. We were Molisa's family, so we were her family. She was a very nice lady.
Momma Jane has been my Alabama Mom for 24 years as I am married to her son Walter. I first met her in 1987 when I met my friend (now cousin) Roxanne at the airport. I was arriving from Korea and stayed the night there with Roxanne. Momma Jane did not know me but opened her home to me. Two years later I married her son Walter and she has been my Momma since then. We had a lot of good times and she has supported me during the good and bad times. I will truly miss you Mom and I love you dearly.
As you go though life’s journey there are a few people that makes a difference in your life and the life’s of you family, Miss Elder was one of those in our life. She was a friend to us and a second Grandmother to our children. Living of Stuardi Court in Mobile Alabama was a great place to live and to raise our young children. I loved to spend time with her and to listen to her life’s story and her words of wisdom. She had so much patience with our young children when they would help in the flower beds and around the house. When Jason was 7 years old he wrote Miss Elder a letter and she wrote him back, that was 25 years ago and Jason still has the letter. When we left Mobile we left part of our heart with Miss Elder, she was the most kind and loving person that we ever knew. Our prayers are with each of you at this time and hope you know how much we love you. We always felt that you were a part of our extended family and we look fondly back on the time we spent together. To the Elder family thank you for sharing your mother with us. Donna thank you especially for the many times you watched over our babies and allowed Linda and I to escape for a short while. We know she is a peace and having a great time with other angels just like her.
Molisa, my daughter, called me Sunday night and told me of your mothers passing. I very sorry to hear of it.She was a wonderful person. She welcome me into her home and we always had a very nice time.
I am very sorry for your loss. A mother is very special. Walter, Mo and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. May your memories be held in your heart and offer you comfort always. Miss Annie welcomed me and my family into her home while we were visiting our sister, Molisa and Walter, her husband. We were welcomed and treated like family. She was very nice. I appreciate having that chance to meet her and spend time with her.
