Anne Frances Taylor's Obituary
Anne Frances Tyler Taylor, the daughter of the late Francis Alphonse Tyler and Anna Mae Wright Tyler was born September 29, 1932, and transitioned from this life on April 21, 2015, at a local hospital. Anne was educated in the Mobile County Public schools, graduating from Central High School in 1948. She went on to further her education, attending Florida A&M University, Oklahoma State University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Alabama State University. Upon completion of her advanced studies, Anne was granted an EDS or Master degree plus 30.Ms. Taylor, an educator, taught in the public school system of Mobile and at Southern University in Baton Rouge. She retired as a staff development coordinator from Mobile County Public School System with 25 years of service.Anne Frances was a lifelong member of State Street A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served faithfully. She was an exhorter and featured speaker at women’s events at various churches in the area. She also was a Life Council Member of the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society. Ms. Taylor was a member of the American Education Association and the American Democratic Committee at the state and local level. She was also a founding board member of the Franklin Memorial Health Clinic Systems.She leaves to cherish her memory and to fulfill her legacy two daughters Tara Taylor Marshall, Baton Rouge, La, Theolya Taylor Harris, Mobile, Al, surrogate daughter Ann Gamble, Osprey, FL, devoted companion George E. Moore, Mobile, Al, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one aunt Ira Do Tyler, Mobile Al, former husband Washington T. Taylor, Mobile, Al, and a host of cousins, caring friends and former students whose lives were greatly touched.Visitation will be held Saturday May 2, 2015 from 9AM until the 11AM funeral hour at State Street A.M.E. Zion Church, 502 State Street, Mobile, AL 36603.
