Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Reverend Wayne Holcomb will be officiating. Anne was born in Doerun, Georgia, to the late Samuel and Myrtle Blackstone on June 1, 1944. She grew up in Houston County and graduated from Perry High School in 1962. She married her high school sweetheart, Wofford Sinyard, Jr., in 1964. Anne was always an ambitious businesswoman and saw a need for retail office supplies in Perry. She and Wofford opened Sinyard’s, Inc. in downtown Perry, with him operating a custom print shop and Anne developing an extensive business of office supplies and a delivery system within a fifty-mile radius. For over twenty years, Anne managed Sinyard’s and was involved in the development of downtown Perry and was active with the Perry Chamber of Commerce, serving on various committees through the years. She and Wofford loved to travel and experience different tropical cultures by taking cruises around the country and the world. Anne was an excellent cook and enjoyed serving fresh southern meals to her family and friends. She loved canning pickles, relishes, and vegetables, and making various flavors of jellies and jams. Anne was known for her delicious canned goods and began selling them at farmer’s markets and festivals all around Middle Georgia. Anne’s greatest treasures in life were her grandchildren, with whom she loved spending time and telling stories of her life.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of fifty-three years, William Wofford Sinyard, Jr.; her son, William Wofford “Tres” Sinyard, III; and her siblings, Richard Blackstone, Kenneth Blackstone, Delores Hall, Louvincie Plair, and Hughie Blackstone.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Anne are her husband of five-and-a-half years, Raymond Yawn of Grovania; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Leahman Britt of Oglethorpe; her grandchildren, Kathryn Anne “Katie” Sinyard (Jeff Hornsby) of Milledgeville, William Wofford “Will” Sinyard, IV (Kaitlyn) of Perry, Anna Wilson of Ft. Valley, and Chris Wilson of Hawkinsville; her daughter-in-law, Leslie Sinyard of Perry; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
