ANNABELLE WATTS KATSEKIS LYTLE's Obituary
PERRY –
Annabelle Watts Katsekis Lytle, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2023, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Perry. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., and the Funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or First Baptist Church of Perry – Benevolence Committee, 1105 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069.
Annabelle was born in Lincolnton, Georgia, on April 3, 1930, to the late Augustus Charles and Margie Cartledge Watts. Her family moved to Perry when she was four years old. After graduating from Perry High School in 1947, she attended Tift College, earned an Associate’s Degree from Georgia Southwestern College, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Georgia Southern College, and began teaching at a young age. In 1978, she returned to Perry where she continued to educate children and young adults in the Houston County school system. Annabelle also earned a Master’s Degree from Georgia College. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Perry and was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the Benevolence Committee. For over thirty years of her life, Annabelle taught school and was inducted into the Houston County Board of Education’s Teachers’ Hall of Fame for her continuous efforts and dedication to training the future citizens and leaders of her community.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of twenty-three years, James “Chick” Katsekis, Sr.; her husband of fifteen years, Hobert Lytle; her brothers, Jack Watts and his wife, Chris, Charlie Watts and his wife, Bobbi, and Gene Boyd and his wife, Margie; and her brother-in-law, Ray Mims.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Annabelle are her caring and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Evelyn Katsekis, of Perry; her grandchildren, Jennifer Hames (Jeff) of Warner Robins, Christopher Katsekis (Jordan) of Warner Robins; and Alex Katsekis (Kady) of Macon; her great-grandchildren, Chase Hames, Sawyer Hames, Lynley Hames, Carter Katsekis, Niko Katsekis, and Gianna Katsekis; her brother, John Watts (Julia) of Perry; her sister, Margilu Mims of Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
