Anna Mae Rickards is remembered for her love of scripture, poetry and her church, but most of all for her uncanny ability to love deeply. One of eight children, she always remained close to her brothers and sisters, missing each one as they journeyed Home. Anna Mae loved her family above all else, but had a special love for babies. So it only seems right that through the many roles she assumed - sister, friend, wife, mother - that her greatest joy came from being a MomMom to her ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Anna Mae would say she was the proudest mother in the world. Her home was always open to her children and grandchildren where they would be embraced with unconditional love and encouragement. She loved her sweetheart, Bobby, more than anything else in the world, second only to her Lord Jesus. To know Anna Mae was to love her; and every moment spent with Anna Mae was to know Christ's love.
Left to cherish the memories of Anna Mae are her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Bobby Rickards; her children, Jay Rickards (Cynthia) of VA Beach, VA, Rhonda Kessler (Alan) of Chesapeake, VA, and Danette Pietrucci (Anthony) of Wilmington, NC; his siblings, Earnest Chandler of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mary Davis of Perry, GA, and Roy Chandler (Dawn) of Dagsboro, DE; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
