Life Legacy
PERRY-Ann Matthews Houser, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Visitation will be on Friday, June 17, 2016, from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall at Perry United Methodist Church with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.Mrs. Houser, a native of Ft. Valley, was the daughter of Charlie and Nina Matthews. She attended Georgia State College for Women, University of Georgia, Peabody College in Nashville, TN, and graduated from Georgia College in Milledgeville. She taught school in Houston County for 12 years. After he brief career in education, Mrs. Houser became a homemaker, a full-time wife and mother. Having lived in Perry since 1946, she was a member of Perry United Methodist Church and the Howell Cobb Sunday School Class. Mrs. Houser was also a member of the Sorrell Club, the Muses Book Club, and the Daniel Stewart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She and her late husband, John H. Houser, Sr., were very active in our community and were instrumental in helping to build Crossroads United Methodist Church. Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Houser are her son, John H. Houser, Jr. of Perry; her son, Charles "Matt" Houser, and his wife, LuAnne, of Montgomery, AL; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
