Amelia Heard ''Baby Girl' Heard' Peavy's Obituary

Amelia Heard Peavy, 75, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., the hour preceding the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2238 US Hwy 41, Perry, GA 31069.
Mrs. Peavy was born in Byron to the late Robert and Florence Elkins Heard. Through the years, she was the bookkeeper for the family businesses, Peavy Construction and PW&P Construction. However, her life revolved around being a wife, mother, and a daughter of the Lord. Mrs. Peavy spent her life creating a loving and spiritual home for her family and teaching her children to love Jesus. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Mrs. Peavy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lamar Peavy; her brothers, Sonny Heard and Robert Heard, Jr.; and a grandson, Dylan Akers.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Peavy are her children, Steve Peavy, Cheryl Magerkurth, and Jason Peavy (John, David, and Rhonda); her grandchildren, Benji Peavy (Kelli), Lee Peavy, Lindsey Peavy, and Gabe Magerkurth; her sister, Judy Morales (Rony); her sisters-in-law, Judy Peavy Raulerson, Martha Peavy Bellavance, and Connie Peavy; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
