Alta Seleta Milstead Odom's Obituary
Alta Seleta Milstead Odom has been ushered into Heaven after a valiant battle against breast cancer. Her legacy is in her sons and the touch of her grace and caring on the hearts of many people. Alta was born to be a caregiver. She seemed an artist in the way she turned conversations always toward the need of others. She chose to find the good in every person and to champion the one who felt alone. She was a protector of hearts with an unforgettable smile. A member of Harvest Church and former beloved member of The Rock of Mobile, Alta is remembered for her love of God and people, as well as true integrity and joy. She was employed with Nondestructive and Visual Inspection, LLC where she will be missed. Alta is survived by her sons, Dalton Odom and Dylan Odom, parents, Wayne and Phyllis Milstead, brother, Russell (Tracy) Milstead, grandmother, Lillian Barnes, many aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Harvest Church at 10 am. Please, no flowers. Donations may be made in memorial to Hopegivers International (HOPEGIVERS.ORG) or Embassy of Hope (EMBASSYOFHOPE).
