Alma Jernigan Dayton's Obituary

Alma Jernigan Dayton, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2014, after suffering with dementia for many years. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Mrs. Dayton was born in Pelham to the late Joseph and Ollie Bowen Jernigan. She grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School. Mrs. Dayton had lived in Perry for the past 57 years. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Perry Country Club. She was a member of the Perry Business Women's Club and was a former President. Mrs. Dayton was also a member of the Tawasi Club, the Akikta Club, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, The Eastern Star, and the Perry Book Browsers where she was a former Secretary and Treasurer. She was a former member of Perry Presbyterian Church, a former Sunday School teacher, and a former Circle Bible teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Dayton.
Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Debby and Ken Stefanini of Smyrna, Patti and Chris Hobson of Peachtree City, and Terri and Mark Hammerle of Perry; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
