Alice White Chapman's Obituary
Age 78, a native of Greenville, Mississippi and a resident of Mobile, AL passed away at her residence after a brave fight with cancer. She retired from South Central Bell (AT&T) after 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Azalea Baptist Church. Alice never met a stranger, she had a love for cooking for people, and was a wonderful cook. She loved her children, and grandchildren dearly, and will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Lee White “Jimmy”, parents, Evelyn Elaine and Marshel Dow Herod and brother, Billy Carl Herod. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Chapman, sons, James Lee (Bettye) White Jr. and Gregory Allan White Sr., grandchildren, MichelleL. (Jason) Byrd, Brent W. white, Lesley D. (Ben) Riddle, Ashley M. (Jason) Bueno and Gregory A. (Tori) White Jr., twelve great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at Serenity on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 12noon. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Pastor Billy McQurter will be officiating the service. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Glover, brother-James Messer, Don Moore, Randy Henderson, Donnie Dungan, Ray Edwards, brother-Johnny Howard, John Jackson, Louis McBride, Billy Seale, Bobby Ward and Keith Zirlott. Active pallbearers are JerryGoodman, John McClure, Doug Nabb, Darrell Butters, Steve Danley and Steve Scroggins. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Azalea Baptist Church or Southern Cancer Center at Providence Hospital, Mobile, AL.
