Albert Kantor's Obituary
Mr. Albert John “Big Al” Kantor, age 76, a native of Tonawanda, New York and a resident of Mobile, AL for the past 39 years passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at his home. He retired from International Paper Company in 1998 after 39 1/2 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Al was a member of the Conde’ Cavaliers and the Order of Venus where he served as a Marshall. He was also a member of American Legion Post 0076 and Elks Club Mobile Lodge 108. Al was an avid golfer and loved Alabama Football. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Mary Kantor, brother, Robert Kantor, sisters, Sharon Kantor and Carol Kantor Maxson. Al is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Kantor, daughters, Cheryl Kantor Bazor and Dawn (Jeremy) Liles, grandchildren, Cody (Jill) Drain, Hannah Drain, Brennan and Graysen Liles, former son-in-law, Chris Drain, brother, Mike (Carolyn) Kantor, sisters, Mary Galley and Shirley Conley, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family request in celebration of his life please wear your Alabama Football related attire. Funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 2 pm with visitation starting at 12 noon until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made in his memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org) or Camp Bluebird-Providence Foundation (P.O. Box 850429 Mobile, AL 36685).
