Life Legacy
Aileen Doyel Harden, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Reverend Jason Dillard will officiate. A private interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Loaves and Fishes, P.O. Box 802, Perry, Georgia 31069.Mrs. Harden was born in Butler to the late Lorenzo and Grace Fountain Doyel. After growing up in Butler and graduating from high school, while in college, she attended a dance in Roberta where she met the love of her life, Warren Harden. The couple soon married and began a life together with Warren working as a contractor at Robins Air Force Base. The Hardens were transferred to Largo, Florida, then eventually returned to Perry in 1972 where they would make their forever home. Aileen was a lady with a servant's heart, always caring for others, and showing her love and compassion throughout the community. She was instrumental in founding the local Loaves and Fishes food bank in Perry, and continued supporting that organization until her health prohibited any further physical involvement, though it was always in her heart and prayers. A long-time member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, Mrs. Harden loved her Sunday School class, enjoyed selling tickets to the church's annual fundraiser, and was always proud to receive the award for selling the most tickets. She owned The T-Shirt Shop in the Village Shoppes in downtown Perry for many years, supplying the local schools' spirit shirts that she individually hand set with a heat press. A bright light wherever she went, Mrs. Harden was always thrilled to spend time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren Cadet Harden.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Harden are her children, Darrell Harden (Megan Erskine) of Dawsonville, and Susan Howe (Randy) of Guntersville, Alabama; her grandchildren, Mallory Howe, Rebecca Hanner (Nathan), Tyler Howe, and Justin Rogers (Sharlene); and her great-grandchildren, Huck Hanner, Isla Rogers, Sosie Rogers, and Cole Rogers. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
