Marie Harrison Davis
September 26, 1929 - March 20, 2020
PERRY – Marie Harrison Davis, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2020. Graveside Services for the family will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. in Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground Cemetery. “Miss Marie” was born in Old Trap, NC, to the late Willis and Mary Elizabeth Riggs Harrison. She was married to the love of her life, Charles Davis, for 50 years. When they lived in Virginia, Miss Marie took pride in her work in the school cafeteria, and enjoyed seeing all of the students every day. She was always a homemaker, herself, creating a loving and welcoming environment for her family. After retirement from the school system, often, Marie would assist others by cleaning and organizing their homes to help those with busy lives feel cheerful and peaceful when they arrived home. Around 2005, Marie and Charles moved to Perry to Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground, where she continued to help others keep their homes clean and organized until her health declined to the point at which she no longer could. Charles was buried in the Campground Cemetery in 2016, and Marie will be laid to rest beside him. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Wayne Jones; her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Charles Davis; her sister, Betty Ballance; and her brother, Ernest Harrison. Left to cherish the memories they made with Miss Marie are her daughters, Janice Horne of CSHC Campground, Sheila Robertson of Leesburg, and Dora Cruce of Loganville; her grandchildren, Jamie Hagan (Kerri), Jeromy Hagan (Jessica), Samantha Wallace (Bobby), and Mikey Cruce; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
