    June Lorene Orser Vogt

    April 15, 1927 - April 20, 2020

    June Vogt, 93 , formerly of Perry, GA for 47 years, passed away at The Willows in Oxford, FL on April 20, 2020. Her family lovingly knew her as "Junebug" and "Gammy". She was born June Lorene Orser in Bellingham, WA on April 15, 1927 to Clarence Raymond Orser and Grace Wadsworth Orser. Growing up she lived in Washington and Arizona before her parents settled in Modesto, CA. On April 20, 1946, in Modesto, CA, June married James Gordon Vogt, "Jim" of Baltimore, MD and was married for 48 years until his passing in 1994. June was a member of The Perry United Methodist Church belonging to the Howell Cobb Class, Joy Choir, and the United Methodist Women. She retired from the Houston County Board of Education as a bookkeeper and secretary. June was also a member of the Sorelle Club and delivered Meals on Wheels for 8 years. One of her greatest experiences was being sprinkled with water from the river Jordan by Reverend Billy Key when she was in Israel in 1998. She is also predeceased by her parents; sister, Arvilla Delameter; sons, Jerry and Jamie; daughter, Janna and her husband, Steve Dixon. June is survived by her children- Jackie (Richard) Bishop, Jonesboro, AR; Jeff(Becky) Vogt, Monroe, GA; Jenny( Melvin)Sweat, The Villages, FL. Nine grandchildren- Andy(Kristi)Bishop, Eastview, KY; Michelle(Rob)Dixon Meadows, Culver City, CA; Angela(Lee)Bishop Hayes, Pocahontas, AR; Allen(Amy) Dixon, Peachtree Corners, GA; Marty(Molli)Bishop, Silver Spring, MD; Mandie(Clint)Vogt Sledge, Monroe, GA; Zac (Chelsea) Vogt, Monroe, GA; Shannon Sweat, Atlanta, GA and Teri(Paul)Carroll, Perry, GA as well as 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Mary (Vic) Zodda ,Williamsburg, VA. and nephew, Steve(Linda) Naylor, Braddock Heights, MD. A private graveside service will be held for the family and a Celebration of Life service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested lasting memorials be made to: Young Life, a ministry for middle and high school students, at giving.younglife.org/inMemoryofJuneVogt Perry United Methodist Church, P.O.
