JAN OXNER EYMAN
January 24, 1955 - March 14, 2022
KATHLEEN – Jan Oxner Eyman, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2022, with her loving family by her side. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. A Reception to celebrate the life of Jan will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Houston Lake Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to The Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31204. Jan was born in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Bruce and Jean Oxner. Jean had left her home in Elberton, Georgia, to go to her parent’s home where Jan was born and returned to Elberton where Jan grew up, eventually graduating from Elbert County High School. Jan’s high school life was incredibly active but two of her activities became the hallmark of her adult life — cheerleading and drama. She became an active member of the Warner Robins Little Theater. Her role in the female version of The Odd Couple was one of her most treasured memories. Those who knew her well recognized Jan as a happy, outgoing, and loving mother, banker, and friend. Jan’s constant goal was to bring people together and bring love and joy into their lives. She was the life coach and cheerleader for family, friends, clients, and co-workers. In 2009, after a successful career in banking, Jan retired and assumed the role of family matriarch for her husband, sons, daughters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephew. Everyone always called Jan for guidance, because she was a wonderful listener who gave the best advice. She helped us all find a better way forward with a happy heart and a warm hug. Jan will be missed by many but forgotten by none. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Sherry J. Bridges and Kaye O. King. Left to cherish the memories they made with Jan are her loving and devoted husband of nearly twenty-five years, Dr. Rusty Eyman of Kathleen; her children, Joseph Waybright (Maggie) of Brookhaven, Jack Waybright of Perry, Jeanne Schwartz (Adam) of Chapel Hill, NC, and Ann Cooper (Andrew) of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
