FORT VALLEY – Carol Lee Moore Ogan, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held for the family on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Friends of Perry Animal Shelter (FOPAS), P. O. Box 2001, Perry, GA 31069. One of six children, Carol was born to the late Robert and Virginia Phalen Moore, and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She married George Ogan and the couple lived in various places around the world, including Germany, France, and Columbus, Georgia, as he was transferred and stationed with the U. S. Army for twenty years. Upon his retirement from the military, they moved to Tennessee for a while, returned to Columbus where they lived for many years, and eventually settled in Fort Valley. Throughout her life, Carol worked in accounting, business management, restaurant management, and even owned and operated a gas station in Columbus with her husband. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George, Jr. and Lisa Ogan of Fort Valley; her grandchildren, George Ogan, III, Jordanne Ogan Torres (Miguel), Brandice Singleton, and Christopher Quituga; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of over fifty years, George Ogan; her daughter, Virginia Ogan Hair; and her siblings, Brent Moore, Robert Moore, Joan Moore, Terri Moore, and Charles Moore.
