Steve was born in Atlanta to the late John and Margaret Gray Barnwell. He was self-employed, driving semi-trucks and operating a transport business called "Semi-Serious." He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a "tall-tale" to tell about every situation. He had a love for cooking, and his food was as flavorful as he was. Steve stood out in a crowd and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed listening to CDs while driving, including numerous comedians and a diverse assortment of music. A "character," he was a good man and a loving husband. He was a Christian.
Left to cherish the memories of Steve are his loving wife of 17 years, Dorothy "D.J." Barnwell of Haynesville; his brothers, Jim Barnwell and Bobby Barnwell of Warner Robins, and Mike Barnwell of Greenville, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences may be left for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
