Margaret E. Attaway, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Apirl 5 at the Houston Lake Baptist Church with interment in Perry Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m- 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Attaway was born in Gwinett County and had lived in Perry since 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years , Robert Attaway, who died in 1998.
A long time faithful member of Houston Lake Baptist Church, she worked in the church nursery for many years. For over 20 years she helped with Loaves and Fishes at the Perry Food Bank.
Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, collecting duck figurines and wind chimes.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Attaway, Bobbie Anderson, John Attaway (Marie) and Becky Babbert (Robert); Siblings, Juanita Thomas, Molly Massey (Bruce), Alice Scott, Deborah Stephens (Joey), Dorothy Givens (Edwin), Doris Cook, David Fowler (Christine); 9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great- great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bobbie B. Fowler, her mother, Montine Kimball Fowler; siblings, Floy Mae, Marshall, Nathan, Jimmy, and Charles.
