Carolyn Dean, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. in Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations for a bench at Forest Hill Park, 1303 Forest Hill Drive, Perry, GA 31069.
A lifelong resident of Houston County, Mrs. Dean was the daughter of the late Carlton and Ressie Reid. She was a giving person, always doing things for other people. Mrs. Dean enjoyed being outside, particularly fishing and hunting; music, especially at the Powersville Opry; Bingo at Rozar Park; and the Georgia National Fair. Known by her family as the Queen of Duck Tape, she believed duck tape could fix anything that was broken. But, her passion in life was her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Nanny". Mrs. Dean was predeceased by her sisters, Peggy Jo Deese and Ella Byrd; and a grandson, Kody Lucas.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Dean are her loving husband of 45 years, Malcolm Dean, Sr. of Perry; her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mike Moss of Perry; her son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm, Jr. and Erica Dean of Perry; her sister, Mary Nikitopoulos; four grandchildren, Ryan Moss, Dylan Sapp, Gracie Dean, and John Paul Dean; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to leave condolences for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
