Beatrice "Bebe" Hammock Dennard, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 8, 2013. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Perry immediately following the service. Reverend Mike Slade will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry.
Bebe was born in Bibb County to the late Felix "Doc" Hammock and Beatrice Griffin Hammock. She was a long-time employee of the Houston County Board of Education where she worked as a substitute teacher and later a full-time teacher at Perry Middle School. She earned her Undergraduate Degree in Middle Grades Education from Fort Valley State University. Graduating as the Valedictorian, she also received her Master's Degree in Education from FVSU. Prior to her career in education, Bebe was the owner of Merle Norman in downtown Perry. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Hammock, Lewis Hammock, and Kelly Hammock; and her sister, Louise Hammock.
Left to cherish the memories of Bebe are her loving husband of 41 years, David Dennard of Warner Robins; her children, Amy Dennard Barnett (Sam) of Winder, and Jason Dennard (Michelle) of Tallahassee, FL; her mother-in-law, Ruth Dennard; her siblings, Eddie Hammock, Jimmy Hammock, and Rebecca Hammock; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
