Welcome Image
Welcome to the Watson-Hunt Funeral Home website.

Since 1942, we have served the Perry community and surrounding areas with professionalism and compassion. Funeral service has changed over the years but our service and commitment to excellence has never changed. Since Gardner Watson started this funeral home in 1942, we have been "committed to doing what is right."

Our professional staff is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, for assistance and guidance—regardless of when our service are needed. Most importantly, we understand that funerals are for the living. They help family, friends, and community gather together to celebrate a life that has been lived. With this knowledge, we strive to provide every family we serve with a truly special and meaningful experience.

Service is most important to our firm. We receive letters frequently about our services. One such letter reads:"Dear Draper-I came to the funeral home expecting to be treated to false solicitude, a cold limp handshake, and pressure to spend excessive amounts of money to memorialize my dead father. What I actually experienced was totally different. You approached my family with respect, sincere sympathy, sensitivity to each individual’s personal way of dealing with grief, and even a sense of humor. There was no pressure to buy the most expensive casket or the most elaborate marker. Instead, you provided guidance and assistance when asked, but allowed us to design the funeral that we felt would best serve as a farewell to my dad…I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me and my entire family during an extremely emotional time. You have, in some small way, changed my view of the world. I am very glad that families in Perry have someone like you to turn to in times of loss."     Jere A. Smith

Perry Memorial Gardens, a perpetual care cemetery started in 1965 is available for interment spaces, cremation niches, mausoleum crypts, and bronze memorials. Being able to handle all of the arrangements in one place offers convenience, and even financial arrangements may be handled on a monthly payment plan.

We do welcome any questions that you may have regarding our services. For more information, or to meet with a family counselor or funeral director to discuss how we can serve you, please feel free to contact us directly at (478) 987-2423.
